Jonathan Green Black Beauty Dense Shade Grass Seed Mixture is a blend formulated for shaded areas of the lawn. It contains shade-tolerant varieties designed for lawns with big trees, large shrubs, or areas shaded by houses and other permanent structures. The mix draws on four families of cool-season turfgrasses — turf-type tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and fine fescues — creating versatility in shady to partial-sun conditions. Germination time is 14–21 days.
- Germinates and establishes quickly in shaded environments
- Formulated to grow where other shady lawn seed mixtures have failed
- Ideal for use around mature trees and shrubs where sunlight penetration is limited
- Turfgrass varieties possess beneficial endophytes for natural insect and disease resistance
